Nadine Phillips
has been practicing pilates for over 6 years. Phillips received
her Stott mat certification in 2003, and her certification
in reformer, cadillac, chair and barrels in 2004. She has
continued her education with Stott, taking the Advanced
Reformer class and Injury and Special Populations class
in 2005. In 2006, she took courses focusing on the fitness
ring and prenatal pilates. Not only can she relate to the
regular client, but she can also accommodate the injured
and advanced client as well.
She opened Cheshire Pilates in the
fall of 2005 after teaching at several pilates studios across
Connecticut. With just one reformer and space for only 8
people in a class, Nadine decided it was time to expand
her studio. After one year, the business has grown to accommodate
more people and new state of the art equipment. |
Renee Braunsdorf has always believed that promoting health and healing, for herself and others, are core values in her life. After earning her Master in Social Work, she practiced psychotherapy for many years. Also, she is an avid participant in numerous forms of physical exercise. Yet despite the satisfactions of her work and workouts, something was missing in her quest for a sense of peace and wellbeing. In 2004, she discovered yoga and has been practicing ever since. She is a 2007 graduate of Kim Valieri’s YOGA Spirit Studio’s 200 hour teaching training program. Renee has been teaching since January of 2007 in a variety of settings: Yoga Center of Cheshire, Peak Fitness Center in Seymour, Pond Ridge of Ashlar Village for seniors and Cheshire Pilates Studio.
Kristin DePalma began her pilates training in 2007, and started teaching mat classes at Cheshire Fitness for Women after completing a certification program through SPIN Fitness. After experiencing first hand how consistent practice of pilates improves posture, agility and strength for athletic and everyday activities, Kristin decided to continue her training under Stott’s comprehensive program. Kristin completed the Stott Intensive Matwork and Reformer Training in 2008. She also teaches pilates and cardio fitness classes for the Cheshire Senior Center and other town programs. |
